Is This The End?

It's been really a long time (2 years?) since I've updated this blog.

But, before I do an update of what I've been up to, or my recent equipment improvements, let me share a story with you :

Once upon a time, there was a little Magical island called Elpam. Although it was a small island, the King of the Elpam was very wealthy. 

The island became prosperous mainly because of their trading and mining industry. Most residents spent their lifetime mining minerals and gold. Some of them would save up for upgrading their homes, while some would spend them on nice clothes and maybe some pets if they can afford. 

Of course some were smarter and have some ways to gather their resources faster. However, there was a group with high intelligence, and they came up with a method to accumulate their wealth tremendously without being caught. Some residents thought that they were foreigners or even aliens not from this world - these group of miners could mine all day - and some at super fast speed - without a need to rest. 

MapleSEA Friends Story And Equipment Update

Hello Everybody,

Thank you for coming back once again.

Basically, there is not much big improvements to my items, since my last post (December 2014!)

There were a few new items, like the Skull Ring mentioned in my previous post, and also currently the new Onyx Ring from the Freud's Diary Event. These Rings would give me additional Boss Attack%, but it is hard to justify giving up my current rings for them.

There's also a new Badge (Shinsoo School Badge) from the Friends Story (MapleStory's First Spin-Off) that we can level it up, hoping for some good stats.

The Friends Story is quite interesting though - although the chatters are a bit long winded.
There are a few good and meaningful lines in the Dialogue that I would like to share.

Prior to doing the Chapters and the stages, I was reading up on this in the forums. There was a Big Spoiler, where most people mentioned that there is a sad ending to this whole story - Maybe because I already knew what was going to happen, but I felt that the ending is good, and it is not sad at all.

Spoiler Ahead : Yeah, we get to choose just one last person to call before all the new friends' memories of the Transfer Student (me) is wiped off them - but it was not as sad as what many people said.

In fact, I love the line, "For Every Beginning, There Is An Ending", and the following line is very powerful too, "In Every Ending, There's A New Beginning".

Tyrant Belt, Boots, Gloves, Cloak

For the Tyrant Belt, I've hammered the remaining upgrade slot, Chaos'ed, used an Eternal Flame of Rebirth and also recubed the Additional Bonus Pot - gaining some additional Attack and some Stat%.

Similarly, for the Tyrant Boots, I've gained Attack, and All Stat% from the Eternal Flame - however, I did not recube the Bonus Pot.

The Tyrant Glove remained unchanged, while the Tyrant Cloak gained an an additional All Stat 3%, but suffered a lost in LUK (from 179 down to 167)

Chaos Root Abyss Armours

For the CRA (Chaos Root Abyss) Armours, I only managed to recube their Additional Bonus Pots, not much significant improvements though :(

Double Pendants (with Permanent Slot Expansion)

I initially did not want to do anything to these, and wait for the Gollux Pendants - which I'm not sure if we will get them in MapleSEA.. But I ended up getting a Permanent Pendant Slot Expansion for my second pendant (note : it's not really permanent, it expires 64 years later, probably I won't be around till then .. ), and I recubed my main MON (Mark of Naricain) Pendant and reflamed the second pendant.

The Rings

Other than the new Scarlet Ring and an additional All Stat% to my LGR (Lightning God Ring), there is no significant improvements too.

The Scarlet Dark Slane Claw

Finally landed the 12th star on this claw with Protection Scrolls dropped from Elite Bosses. This 12th star did not come easy - literally burnt like 100s of them, just to get this additional 5WA ..

All in all, this round, there was no big improvement at all.

MapleSEA You & I Patch, Previous Boss Hunting Week and Some Updates

Welcome Back to my Journal - sorry for the lack of updates lately, because there was not much upgrades done - and also I was busy doing some Boss Hunting in the Boss Hunting Event a couple of weeks back.

Talking about the Boss Hunting Event, it was quite disappointing for me. With all my previous upgrades, I was still not able to down Hard Magnus (solo and with a party). I've been watching YouTube videos and practicing, but the closest we could get to, was about 5% HP before Magnus started raining his "candies"..

This is what I've gotten from the event, and I'm not too sure if I want to do up the ring properly and pot it.

The only thing I would gain from this set (and the set effects) are additional boss% and ignore def%. +5% with these - it is a bit hard to justify the cubings..

Anyway, another part of the event was "playing Scissors Paper Stone with Zak" (The Great Pipsqueak Zakum Rock-Paper-Scissors). One of the main reward was the Eternal Flame of Rebirth. Previously, with normal flames, we could only flame some of our "Season 1 equipment", but with this Eternal Flame, it could be used on "Season 2 items", ie. our Tylents, CRA /  Fafnir Armours and Equipments, etc

MapleSEA Lightning God Ring (LGR) and New Equipment Updates

Hello Everyone!

Here's another update for my NightLord in MapleSEA.

I've recubed most of my items to 21% LUK on the normal potential pot and at least +10 ATT on their Additional Bonus Potential.

The Rings :

Finally, the Lightning God Ring (LGR) arrived in MapleSEA - it was available from gacha, and I managed to get one for myself - replacing my lower stat Ring, the Darkness Ring 2.

This is supposedly one of the "Best Ring in MapleStory" at the moment - as we all know, there is no such thing as end game items in game - maybe "Best for the moment", but there will always be something better that would replace these :)

The LGR is really good, with added 16 WA and MA buff! Initially I did not really like the visual effects of it - its like a floating head following me whenever I go .. kinda spooky..  I'm slowly getting accustomed to it now.

Double Pendants :

For the time being I am wearing two Mark of Naricain (MON) Pendants. The additional Pendant slot is temporarily available by completing the Grand Athenaeum Quests, and could be further extended 3 times (7 Days each) - but it is quite difficult to get these 7 Days extension because we have to hunt some ETC items and the drop rate is really bad!

Wish we could get Permanent Slot Expansions like our friends in GMS (Global MapleStory) too :)

At the moment, I am not upgrading my Pendants yet because I am actually waiting for the Gollux Pendants to come to MapleSEA - not sure when are they coming though..

Root Abyss Armours :

I recubed these to have 21% LUK on the potential lines, but I have yet to re-scroll them (probably gonna Chaos the Top and Bottom again in the near future) and I've yet to stamp them to give me a 3rd Bonus Potential line too - really hope there's some hidden +10 or +11 ATT in one of them :)

The Tyrants (Tylents) :

Root Abyss Set, Set Effects, And The Giant Pink Bean Chair

Welcome back to my blog.

Last week in MapleSEA, the Root Abyss Armours were released in our Gachapon Machines for a week.

I tried to acquire one Thief set for myself (Armours only, the Fafnir weapons is not released yet), because I don't think I could down the Root Abyss Chaos mode Bosses myself, and I do not really want to join a squad and do these regularly - due to time needed, commitment, etc..

Actually, the Fafnir weapons were supposed to be given out to lucky individuals during Hot Time sometime back - but so far, there is no news that anybody have gotten it!!)

By the way, quite a number of players (including myself) keeps saying "Fafnir set", actually "Fafnir" is the weapon, the set is called "Root Abyss set", not Fafnir set - but I guess it doesn't really matter.. a Rose by any other name is still a Rose ("A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." - William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet)


On the first few days, I tried my luck at the Gachapon machines in Henesys - the supposedly Best Place To Gacha - but I got nothing :(

There were quite a few system mega to congratulate players who have gotten these, and so I thought,  instead of fighting with so many others for a chance to obtain one from Henesys, maybe I should try other towns.

My Stats And Equipment Update

Ok, here's the current EQ I'm using as of 2nd August 2014.

The Rings :

Here are the 4 rings I'm currently using (we have 2 hands, 10 fingers, not sure why we can only wear 4 rings at a time..)

I've added at least a +10 ATT to all of them on the Bonus Potential line, but special mention goes to this lucky Darkness Ring 3 (DR3), with a +20 ATT on it!

All of them have attained the Epic ranking on the Bonus Potential, but only the Meister Signet had this attack stats on the first line, ie. ATT +11, the others were on the second or third, thus 1 ATT lesser. I did not recube these to +11, but maybe someday I would (not on the DR3 ring though) - when they bring back those Master Additional Potential Cubes again.

If I run out of things to upgrade in the future, I might use a Innocent scroll to reset the Meister Signet and re-Chaos it.

Helm, Top and Bottom :

These 3 items would probably be replaced in the near future when the Root Abyss equipment drops are more common - for the Root Abyss set effect.

Similarly I added +ATT on the Bonus Potential lines. I did however flamed them to get at least a decent amount of additional LUK on them. The Red Osfa Pants was reflamed to add some +ATT on its base stats too, but just +3ATT, not much..
